Lighthouse Preschool, Inc. was founded in 2001 when our teachers
had the ambitious idea of guiding children through their early years of life in
a preschool setting. We welcome children
as young as 2 ½ years old to 5 years old and provide them
with everything they need to succeed and thrive in school – love,
encouragements, social interactions with children their ages, and a variety of
basic school skills.
We are very proud of all of our students who have passed through
our doors as we watch them graduate from preschool and move on to kindergarten
in public school. What makes the
teachers very proud of our students is the knowledge that we have best prepared
our students for what they may face in public school and years to come.
For many years, Lighthouse
Preschool has guided students during and after school hours as they continued
to grow and have their skills continue to develop. We welcome all students, old and new, to come
and join our After School Programs, located
in PS1, PS124, and 80 Bowery Rm501, where the children are able to better understand
their homework and have them completed with the assistance of experience teachers.
On Saturdays, we have the Saturday Advancement Program, where
children from Pre-Kindergarten to high school can also come and join the
program. The curriculum is tailored to
fit the child's strengths and weaknesses and to help children in Grades 3 to
5 to prepare for the standardized tests.
Teachers that graduated from NYU PolyTechnic, Hunter College, Touro
College, and Harvard University will help students from Junior High and High
School be prepared for their regents (Math, English, Biology, Chemistry,
Physics, History, etc) and SAT and SHSAT exams.
All of our teachers are chosen for their warmth, education, and
experience and had a huge impact on our students. In order for them to be
hired, they must complete a thorough application, screening, and training
process, complying with Lighthouse's standards and local government regulations
before being placed in the classroom.
Be sure to check out our students' high scores on the Kindergarten Gifted and Talented Exam!
